Heat
stress has long plagued racers in all types of racing and the only
effective way to keep drivers cool has been by pumping iced water
through tubing sewn to a shirt.
The
newest development in driver cooling is the Liquid Cooler direct
from USA. The cooler does not use ice, but instead passes water
over electronically chilled plates which in turn is circulated through
the Cool Shirt to cool the driver.
The
cooler weighs 3.2kgs and is extremely compact in size. The Liquid
Cooler System is the most advanced electronic system available today
for the demands of professional and amateur drivers competing in
long races. It keeps the driver constantly cool even in the hottest
cockpit, reducing the temperature of the shirt by 40 degrees farenheit
below ambient.
The
system features an 8 foot hose which includes the safety pull release
connectors for emergency evacuation from the cockpit. The Liquid
Cooler comes with a 2 speed temperature control for comfort and
the Cool Shirt Liquid Cooler.
